The article is devoted to structural, lexical and stylistic peculiarities as well as national English- Canadian peculiarities of E.Seton-Thompson’s animal short-story «Arnaux, the chronicle of a Housing Pigeon» and its translation into Russian by М.К.Chukovsky. The main devices which the translator uses are scrutinized.
